About B.Com Honours in Christ University
CHRIST (Deemed to be University) introduced the BCom (Honours) programme to its basket of contemporary and progressive programmes, in June 2010. This programme caters to commerce aspirants who desire to build their professional competence on a higher plateau with specialized knowledge in the field of Business and Commerce. The curriculum is duly developed considering the desired level of knowledge exposure in the context of ever changing environment in global business. The three year BCom (Honours) degree programme is divided into six semesters and is designed as per the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) model curriculum prescribed by UGC. It includes core papers, discipline specific electives, generic electives and skill enhancement courses. Discipline specific electives offered in the fifth and the sixth semesters are in the following streams: Finance & Investment and Banking & Insurance. Students are required to undertake a research work (research article or report) during their sixth semester. Students are also required to complete two inter-disciplinary open elective courses in diverse disciplines [Humanities / Sciences] during the first two years of the BCom (Honours) programme after regular class hours. Successful completion of two such courses is mandatory for obtaining the BCom (Honours) degree. Each open elective course will enable students to earn two extra credits.
Eligibility for B.Com Honours in Christ University
- Eligibility for the programme is a pass at the 10+2 level (Karnataka PUC / ISC / CBSE / NIOS / State Boards) with not less than 60% from any recognized Board in India.
- Candidates writing the 10+2 examinations may apply with their class X and XI marks.
- Students pursuing International curriculum must note that eligibility is according to AIU stipulations: Applicants pursuing IB curriculum must have 3 HL and 3 SL with 24 credits.
- Applicants pursuing GCE / Edexcel must have a minimum of 3 A-levels with a grade not less than C.
Fee structure for B.Com Honours in Christ University
- It is to be noted that though the fee is fixed for three years, there may be a periodic nominal increase to meet the rise in costs.
- 1.NRI fee is applicable for the first year for candidates who have studied foreign syllabus (has to be approved by UGC / AIU) in the qualifying examination of study in India. (The above condition is not applicable to NRI and candidates applied under NRI Category).
- 2. NRI fee is applicable for the full duration of the Programme for candidates who; 2.1. Have pursued and completed their last qualifying exam from outside India. 2.2. Are NRI and candidates who have applied under the NRI category.
- 3. To claim the Indian / Karnataka category fee, the candidates should have studied last 7 years in India / Karnataka. (Not applicable for OCI, PIO and Foreign Nationals).
- 4. Admission registration fee of INR 5000/- is non-refundable in the event of cancellation of admission. This fee will be apart from cancellation charges if applicable.
- 5. All Candidates If “Selected” after appearing for the final selection process, the fee may be paid through the following option: Payment can be made through Net banking / NEFT / RTGS Payment / Transfer of fees does not guarantee admission.
Some Miscellaneous Information
- The University does not collect any type of Capitation / Donation other than the fee mentioned on the website.
- If the Application is incomplete or incorrect, the University Management has the right to reject it. Kindly do not send any original marks cards through post or courier.
- The Online application form will be processed by the Office of Admissions only on receipt of the online payment acknowledgment slip copy and all supporting documents.
- The institution is not responsible for any application reaching after the stipulated date /time and such applications will not be processed.
- Ignorance of the Terms, Conditions and guidelines will not be considered as an excuse for non-fulfilment of any stipulated process.
- It is to be noted that though the fee is fixed for 2 years, there will be a periodic nominal increase to meet the rise in costs.
- Fees should be paid within the stipulated date for the first year and before the commencement of final examinations of 2nd semester for the second year. All those admitted to the programme will have to purchase a laptop at their own cost. Admitted student who wish to avail Bank Loan will be provided a recommendation letter on request by presenting the original fee paid receipt to the Office of Admissions.
- The decision of the Admission Committee is final and binding.
